Broomhedge travelled up the motorway to Portadown to play Seagoe in the league. Referee was Adrian Ball of Banbridge
Within the first minute a knock on from Bradford to Thompson saw Thompson hit a shot from 25 yds and straight into the roof of the net giving the Seagoe keeper no chance. What a start for the travelling side. With player manager Jameson moving up to midfield this week and linking up well with Bradford, Broomhedge started to boss the midfield even though at times they were outnumbered with Seagoe playing 3 central midfielders.
On 31 mins Seagoe were awarded a free kick just on the half way line, the ball was floated into the box and a lack of communication in the Broomhedge defence let Wayne McClure come round the back to score at back post.
Broomhedge kept their composure and 5mins later with some good play by Murphy were back in front. Murphy made a powerful run on the right hand wing, he played a great ball to Flynn on the edge of the 18yard line. Flynns first touch lifted the ball off the ground and it seemed he had blown his shooting chance but somehow with two Seagoe defenders closing him down he managed to spin and volley the ball into the left hand side of the goals surprising the home keeper and giving him no chance at all.
2-1 to the visitors at half time.
Second half Broomhedge came out and kept putting the Seagoe defence under pressure. Thompson was putting in a good shift up front and on a few occasions had a few half chances but these came to nothing.
In the 56th minute a great ball out of midfield by Bradford for Broomhedge split the Seagoe defence finding the run of Alan Stevenson who rounded the out rushing keeper and tapped into the empty net.
It was all Broomhedge now and they kept playing the ball forward looking to try and kill off the game and add to their tally.
Johnny Houston making his first start up front was working his socks off and putting the home defence under pressure giving them no time to settle on the ball and he came close hitting the side netting on a couple of occasions.
In the last 10 minutes Broom relaxed slightly and paid the price with Seagoe scoring another soft headed goal which looped into the net over keeper Green who had an excellent performance all day.
Broomhedge held on for the win and another 3 points. Three league wins in a row now.
Like to thank Seagoe for their hospitality after the match.Broomhedge at home next week to Lisnally.
